Syncretized was started way back in 2007. “Started” in the previous sentence means that the domain name was bought in 2007 and used primarily as a personalized e-mail domain until 2009. In 2009, Sagar Patel (yours, truly) accepted a project that would send him to Chennai, India. As a way to chronicle the trip, the site was finally designed and launched as a blog.

From its roots as a travel blog, Syncretized has undergone another transformation. Like a schizophrenic, multiple personalities (or more accurately, interests) make up “The Syncretic.” Those personalities are The Aesthete (the art fanatic), The Bibliophile (the bookworm), The Gourmand (the food slob), The Pundit (the old man who talks politics and issues with your dad), and The Wanderlust (the wide-eyed traveler).
